Founded in 2020, PTT Space is a Taipei-based contemporary art gallery focusing on emerging East Asian and diaspora artists. An experimental offshoot of the renowned Pata Gallery, PTT Space proposes a critical re-consideration of historical and ideological legacies that have continually affected East Asian art practices by engaging with material and media practices which question and innovate on traditional techniques and modes of representation. Drawing on the spirit of its namesake—PTT is also the largest digital bulletin and forum system in Taiwan noted for its diverse topics and user demographics—PTT Space aims to create an open forum for discussion and experimentation using Taiwan as a locus and departing point. PTT Space has participated in fairs, including Art Basel Hong Kong 2024, ART021 Shanghai, Art Taipei, and Taipei Dangdai; and has placed works in private collections, including the Fubon Art Foundation.
