See You Again?

SAKURAI AYANO, LIN RU-TING, YANG CHIAO-HUI group exhibition
21 December 2024 - 08 February 2025

The new group exhibition at PTT Space, titled "See You Again?", conveys the longing for a reunion with someone or something, resonating with the spirits of the artists who continuously explore and seek through their persistent creations. Each artist, with their unique artistic language, delves into their own existence and profound inner connections.
Sakurai Ayano traces her lineage back to a larger existence beyond herself, reminding viewers to see the subtle yet powerful connections between human beings. Starting from her family genealogy, Sakurai turns her gaze towards her seemingly distant ancestors. Through her art, she attempts to bridge the gap between herself and her ancestors, reflecting on the origins and future of humanity. Sakurai's works remind us that every individual is inextricably linked to the past, and our existence is the result of the collective efforts of countless generations.
Lin Ru-Ting, through the repetitive manipulation of dynamic lines, awaits the emergence of forms and colors from the flat surface, leading viewers to witness the artist's inner trajectory. She focuses on the creative process itself, creating a fluid state on the canvas through the repeated layering of colors and lines. This dynamic process not only reflects the artist's inner changes but also alludes to the passage of time. Lin Ru-Ting's art is not merely about presenting the final result but also a continuous process of exploration and discovery.
Yang Chiao-Hui's paintings transport us into a dreamlike personal world. The scenes and characters in her works express various emotions towards the world, such as being hurt, healed, happy, sad, or even angry. There are countless untold stories here that yearn to be understood, and perhaps viewers can find fragments to fill their emptiness. In Yang Chiao-Hui's creations, dreams, memories, and emotions flow freely and extend infinitely without boundaries.
In the "See You Again?" exhibition, the three artists explore themes of existence, time, and self from their unique perspectives. By viewing these works, we may be able to rediscover ourselves and establish a closer connection with the world around us.
